What is Mandala:
The Mandala is a decorative object widely used today. This form arose in ancient times of mankind. The mandala means circle of eternity and balance.
The word "mandala" comes from Sanskrit and means "circle". The first mandalas history emerged in Tibet in the eighth century, and were used as meditation tools.
Mandalas were found in the Far Eastern culture as a representation of the sacred. These circles are full of symbolism and are present in various cultures such as the culture of Buddhists, Hindus and Tibetans.
This representation is widely used in rituals of prayer, meditation and healing. The mandala is also considered a magic circle or an energy concentration object.
Universally, the mandala represents wholeness, integration and harmony. Mandalas are present in the Chinese symbol of Yin and Yang, the Indian yantras, in Tibetan thankas, the stained glass windows of Catholic cathedrals, and various other representations.
The shape was also present in the Hermetic writings and religious art from the XVI, XVII and XVIII. Today, the representation is used for inner balance of therapies and for the environment decoration.
